TV Personal Trainer, University Associate Lecturer, Author/Course Writer for Learn Direct/Leap Academy, Corporate/School Public Speaker, Multi-Discipline Health Expert:

Gavin is well known within the fitness industry for his feature national BBC One documentary titled ‘Supersize Cabbies’ where he coached a group of taxi drivers to achieve impressive health and body composition transformations. In regards to health, Gavin is a national leader in creating strategies to produce healthy, sustainable and significant change using an holistic multi-faceted approach. He has experience and qualifications across many disciplines of health and wellbeing such as in personal training/specialist medical condition fitness training, nutrition, injury rehabilitation/sports massage and psychology/clinical hypnotherapy.

In his career Gavin has worked in numerous roles for educational, wellbeing and sporting organisations. As well as being known as a national health expert, he is also known widely in the sports industry for previous work on the Football Coded Grading System which is a scientific method of developing and assessing elite football technical skills. He has worked for Plymouth Argyle FC, had licenses with Goals Soccer Centres and achieved a scientific award nomination in a European Parliament project in Caserta Italy.

In a wellbeing setting he has worked for numerous companies (including Nuffield Health) and used his unique skillset and diverse qualification base to support clients at opposite ends of the health spectrum, from teenage elite athletes to elderly COPD patients and everything in between. Alongside being the lead health expert for a full feature length BBC One health documentary, he has also appeared numerous times on BBC Radio Devon providing health advice and over 100 times in the Plymouth Herald newspaper in relation to various health projects.

Currently his main roles involve using his accumulated expert knowledge to support the next generation of personal trainers and nutritionists through his work as a university lecturer (University of Plymouth), tutor, assessor and course writer (Learn Direct/Leap Academy). Gavin is also an experienced and engaging public speaker in a corporate and educational setting. In particular, as part of his work on behalf the University of Plymouth, University of St Mark and St John and privately he has delivered public speaking keynote presentations on an array of physical and mental health topics to a large number of secondary schools across Devon and Cornwall.
